Dr. Caneppele emphasized that rural producers stand to benefit significantly from engaging early with the carbon credit market. “Producers who do their homework now,” she said, “can position themselves at the forefront of this new economy.” While the law wont mandate participation for agricultural producers, large companies and industries will be obligated to compensate for emissions — creating demand for credits.

“In the early stages,” she added, “limited supply could drive strong demand, meaning higher value for those already prepared.”
